GLASS CITY SWING BAND INC. (GCSB) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed in July 2015 that benefits others through music by supporting our local communities through disabilities awareness and preserving history, specifically the Swing Era. Read the background of the Glass City Swing Band.

Founders of GCSB, Inc., Jill and Joy Procida, have a passion for disabilities awareness and preserving history through the use of a nostalgic 18-piece group playing swing music of the 1930's and 1940's. The part of GCSB's mission to support disabilites awareness is very near to both of the founders' hearts as both carry a diagnosis of limb girdle muscular dsytrophy and can relate first hand to the freedom one can feel through music. GCSB will support disabilities awareness through musical education programs to enhance the lives of children and adults with special needs. A program that GCSB has developed, called SCAT (Swingin' With Creative Arts Therapies), will do just that. Find out more about SCAT.

The second part of GCSB's mission is to preserve the history of the Swing Era. The founders love for the Swing Era and music made it very easy to incorporate this aspect into GCSB's mission by providing historical concerts to local and surrounding communities.

You can help support GCSB's programs (historical concerts, SCAT, and other events) through several fundraisers held throughout the year, purchasing of GCSB merchandise, making a tax-deductabe donation and/or hiring GCSB for your special event.
